About Laser Spine Health
Laser Spine Health pioneered the application of endoscopic and laser surgery to problems of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine, such as spinal stenosis, spondylosis, degenerative disc disease, herniated discs, and previous failed open back surgery.
The instrumentation for his world-famous Procedures has been awarded six patents by the U.S. Patent Office. The LSH Procedures have been performed successfully more than 20,000 times on patients suffering with pain from back and neck conditions.
Unlike old-fashioned "open" back surgery, these advanced outpatient spine surgeries usually can avoid dissection of the muscle and removal of the bone. Because these surgeries are minimally-invasive, patients with cervical, thoracic, or lumbar disc problems experience far less trauma.
Our surgery patients can return to work and resume normal daily activities much sooner than patients who have had "open" back surgery.
-
The Procedures are less likely to cause the significant fibrosis or scarring that often accompanies open back or neck surgery.
-
Although The Procedures are performed in stages, as outpatient spine surgeries they do not require costly overnight hospital stay, and are usually far less expensive than the average "open" back surgery.
-
The Procedures are gentle enough to be classified as “outpatient” procedures, meaning that no overnight stay is required after surgery, thereby reducing the medical cost.
-
The LSH Procedures have never resulted in a morbidity, disability, or major infection.
-
The patient remains fully awake under a local anesthetic during The Procedures, allowing for direct communication with the surgeon as the pain from disc problems and conditions is alleviated. The risks from general anesthesia are avoided, making the procedure available to patients in a wider age range.
-
The contraindications are few, because of the advanced nature of The LSH Procedures. Medical conditions that could preclude a patient from being a candidate for spinal surgery at The Institute include pre-existing conditions of diaphysis, tumors, uncontrolled blood pressure, pregnancy, congenital malformations or vertebral fractures.
